I am Ananda.
My pen name is Anand Leo.
I am originally from Sri Lanka. I was born in March 1945.
I attended several schools in Sri Lanka and finally from 1957 to 1963, I was at the Ananda College, Colombo. After leaving Ananda College, from 1964 to 1969 I was with the Department of Irrigation in Sri Lanka.
In 1969 I came to UK for higher education and that is where my home is. In the UK I attended several higher education institutions including Universities of Greenwich, Leeds and Liverpool.
My occupation is Civil & Structural Engineer.
I am a Graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and was a Graduate member of the Institution of Water and Environment Management in the past (1984-1992).

My father's family home town is Udugampola (7.136N 79.984E) near Gampaha in the western province of Sri Lanka. Both my parents are late. My mother's name is Sandawathi Marasinghe, and my father is Aron Moonasinghe. My mother was a headmistress at several girls schools for most of her teaching career. My father had been a teacher, and has had pursued an accountancy course in Madras for a short while. In 1940s, my father had taken up farming as a pioneer land developer in the north western province and was the proud owner of Kalugalla Estate near the towns Ganewatta and Polpithigama (7.814N 80.404E). He received the title of JP.
I have two older brothers. The eldest, Walter is deceased. He attended St. Mary's College, Veyangoda, and he was a Rover Scout. Other brother Victor who was educated at St. Thomas College, Gurutalawa, took a career as a teacher and was a principal.
